Charms — keychains — arrived in 2024 and are the first genuinely new cosmetic slot CS2 has added in years. A charm attaches to a weapon and hangs off it visibly in first person, which puts it in the small group of cosmetics you actually look at while playing. They come from charm capsules rather than dropping loose at the end of a match.
Patterns, and Why Two Identical Charms Differ
Several charm designs carry a pattern index that changes their colour or finish, exactly as Case Hardened does on a weapon. Two listings for the same charm can therefore be visually different items at very different prices, and the pattern is not always obvious from a thumbnail. It is the one variable in this category that behaves like a weapon skin’s.
Moving a Charm Between Weapons
A charm can be removed and reattached for a small fee, and removing one returns it to your inventory rather than destroying it — unlike a sticker, which is consumed when scraped off. A charm left attached travels with the weapon when it is traded or sold, so check what a listing actually includes before comparing prices.
