Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 May 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how MaestroAI Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), operator of skinscanner.gg, uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the SkinScanner website and platform (the "Service").
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which provides further detail on how we handle your personal data. By continuing to use the Service, you agree to our use of cookies in accordance with this policy.
You can manage or withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time, as described in section 6 below.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device and store information about your preferences or past actions.
Cookies may be "session cookies", which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent cookies", which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
Cookies may be set by us ("first-party cookies") or by third parties whose services we use on our website ("third-party cookies"). We do not control third-party cookies and you should refer to the relevant third party's cookie or privacy policy for further information.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They enable core features such as account login, session management, and security. You cannot opt out of these cookies as they are required for the Service to operate.
Examples include cookies used to maintain your login session and to remember your cookie consent preferences.
Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics to help us understand how users interact with the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about usage patterns, including which pages are visited, how long users spend on those pages, and where users navigate from.
This data is aggregated and anonymised where possible and is used solely to improve the Service. Google Analytics cookies will only be placed on your device where you have given your consent.
For further information on Google Analytics and how to opt out, please visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Advertising and Targeting Cookies
We use Google Ads to display advertising and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to the Service or other websites ("interest-based advertising").
You can manage your Google advertising preferences at adssettings.google.com. These cookies will only be placed on your device where you have given your consent.
Affiliate Tracking Cookies
When you click on a link to a third-party CS2 marketplace through the Service, affiliate tracking cookies or pixels may be set. These are used to attribute your visit or any resulting transaction to SkinScanner, which may result in us receiving a commission from the marketplace.
Affiliate tracking cookies may be set by us or by the relevant marketplace partner. The data passed may include a click identifier, session token, or referral code. You should review the privacy and cookie policies of any third-party marketplace you visit.
These cookies will only be placed where you have given your consent.
First-Party Event Tracking and Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage as part of our first-party analytics and event tracking system. Local storage is a standard browser technology that allows data to be stored on your device. Unlike session cookies, local storage data does not expire automatically when you close your browser but persists until you clear your browser data or until we programmatically remove it.
We store the following data in your browser's local storage:
Session identifier ("session_id"): a unique identifier generated when your session begins, used to associate your in-session events with one another for analytics purposes. This is classified as a strictly necessary storage item as it is essential to the integrity of our analytics system and does not require consent;
Authentication token ("authToken"): where you are logged into the Service, your authentication token is stored in local storage and is included with all event records to associate your activity with your account. This is strictly necessary for the authenticated features of the Service to function; and
Marketing attribution parameters ("tracking_params"): where you arrive at the Service via a tracked marketing link, we store UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_campaign, utm_medium, utm_term) and, where applicable, a Google Click ID ("gclid") in local storage. These are appended to all analytics events generated during your session. This storage item requires your consent where it involves Google Click IDs in connection with Google Ads.
Our first-party event tracking system records detailed behavioural events as you use the Service, including search queries, scraping activity, marketplace clicks, watchlist interactions, banner clicks, blog reading time, and recent search history. A full description of the events tracked is set out in our Privacy Policy. This tracking is carried out under our legitimate interests and does not require separate consent, save to the extent that any event data is combined with Google Ads data.
You can clear local storage data at any time by clearing your browser's site data through your browser settings. Note that clearing local storage will log you out of the Service and remove your session history.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Service are set by third parties. We do not control these cookies. The main third parties setting cookies through our Service are:
Google LLC — for analytics and advertising purposes. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Third-party CS2 marketplace operators — in connection with affiliate tracking. Please refer to the relevant marketplace's own cookie or privacy policy.
5. How We Obtain Your Consent
When you first visit the Service, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent as they are required for the Service to function.
We record your consent preferences and will not place non-essential cookies unless you have given your consent. Your consent preference is stored via a strictly necessary cookie.
You can change your consent preferences at any time using our cookie management tool, accessible via the cookie settings link on our website.
6. Managing and Disabling Cookies
In addition to our cookie management tool, most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically configure your browser to:
refuse all cookies;
accept only first-party cookies; or
delete cookies that have already been set.
Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service. In particular, strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without affecting your ability to log in and use account features.

7. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" feature that signals to websites that you do not wish to be tracked. The Service does not currently alter its behaviour in response to Do Not Track signals; however, your consent preferences set via our cookie consent tool will be honoured regardless.
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
