How to Compare CS2 Skin Prices

Why the Same Skin Costs Different Amounts

A CS2 skin has no single price. Every marketplace sets its own, and the spread between the cheapest and dearest listing for one item in one condition is routinely double digits as a percentage. Fees differ, inventories differ, and a market that happens to be holding three copies of something will price it below one holding a single copy. That spread is the entire reason a comparison page exists: the work is not finding the skin, it is finding which of the marketplaces currently has it cheapest.

What Actually Sets a Price

Four things, in roughly this order. Rarity sets the band. Wear moves the price within it, sometimes by multiples — the float value decides how much of the pattern is visible under the scuffing. StatTrak and Souvenir are separate items rather than modifiers, each with their own supply. And for a handful of finishes the pattern index outranks all of it: Case Hardened, Fade and Doppler copies of the same skin in the same condition can differ by an order of magnitude on seed alone.

Reading a Listing Before You Buy

Check the condition against the price band rather than the name — a Covert in Battle-Scarred can be worth less than a Classified in Factory New. Check whether the listing is StatTrak or Souvenir, since both look similar in a thumbnail and price very differently. Check what is attached: applied stickers and charms travel with the weapon and are part of what you are paying for. Then compare that exact combination across marketplaces rather than comparing the skin in the abstract.

FAQ

Search for the skin here and compare the live listings side by side. Skinscanner.gg pulls prices from 27 marketplaces at once, so you see the spread rather than one market's number, and you click through to whichever is cheapest for the exact condition you want.
