StatTrak

StatTrak™ is a variant of a skin that ships with a built-in counter — kills for weapons, or activations for some other item types — displayed in the item's name in orange text. It's purely a bragging-rights feature: the counter has no effect on the weapon's actual performance.

A StatTrak copy and a regular copy of the same skin are treated as entirely separate items on every marketplace, usually with StatTrak carrying a price premium since not every skin has a StatTrak version available in the first place, and the ones that do are pulled from a smaller slice of case odds.

The counter can be reset with a StatTrak Swap Tool, but in CS2 it cannot be transferred onto a different weapon — the tool only zeroes the count on the same item, unlike a mechanic some players remember from other games.
