The Complete Guide to CS2 Pistol Skin Prices
How CS2 Pistol Pricing Works
Pistol skins follow the same rarity ladder as every other weapon category, from Consumer Grade up through Covert, with wear condition swinging price just as much as rarity does. Where pistols differ slightly is volume: because every player buys a pistol in the opening round of every half, and pistols are cheap to case-open compared to rifles, common pistol skins tend to sell in much higher numbers, which keeps their floor prices lower even at Factory New. StatTrak and Souvenir copies still carry the usual premium, and Souvenir versions are only available for pistols that have appeared in an official Major.
Pistol Names You Might Not Know
A few pistol names carry real-world history most players never look into. The Desert Eagle takes its name directly from its real manufacturer, Magnum Research's Israeli-made pistol, built for desert warfare and named for the bird associated with it. The USP-S stands for Universale Selbstladepistole, German for "universal self-loading pistol," built by Heckler & Koch, with the "S" marking the suppressed variant. The CZ75-Auto is named after its maker, Czech firearms company Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod, whose original CZ 75 design dates back to the 1970s.
Pistols in CS2: The Great Equalizer
Every player starts every half with nothing but a pistol, which makes the pistol round one of the most closely watched moments in competitive CS2. Unlike rifle rounds, where economy and utility can decide a fight before it starts, pistol rounds come down almost entirely to individual aim and positioning, since nobody has armor or utility advantages yet. That raw, skill-first nature is a big reason pistol skins have their own dedicated following, even though a pistol costs a fraction of what a rifle does.
