  • 0% Buyer Fee
  • 0% Deposit Fee
  • 0% Withdrawal Fee

Introduction

Skinport is run by Skinport GmbH from Stuttgart, Germany, and has been trading since 2019. It is the largest marketplace in this comparison by review volume — more than 35,000 Trustpilot reviews at 4.8 — and one of the few that frames itself around EU anti-money-laundering and KYC compliance rather than treating regulation as an afterthought.

How the market works

Sellers list items from their own Steam inventory and buyers purchase them outright; there is no haggling or offer system. Skinport handles delivery once Steam’s standard seven-day trade lock clears, so the wait you experience is Valve’s, not Skinport’s.

Fees explained

The standard sales fee is 8% — cut from 12% in July 2025 — and it drops to 6% on higher-value items: €1,000 and above in EUR, USD or CHF, £800 in GBP, CA$1,500, A$1,600, NZ$2,000 or S$2,000, 5,000 PLN, 10,000 SEK, NOK, HKD or TRY, and 6,500 BRL. The fee includes VAT, rounds up to the nearest cent and has a €0.01 minimum. There is no buyer fee and no payout fee. Skinport also runs a much cheaper 2% tier for private listings, which is worth knowing if you have already agreed a sale with someone and just need a safe way to complete it.

How to buy

Add items to a cart and check out with a card, PayPal, Apple Pay or — in China — AliPay. Purchases can only be withdrawn to your own Steam account; you cannot buy a skin on Skinport and have it delivered to someone else.

How to sell

List items straight from your Steam inventory, and adjust or cancel the price at any time while they sit unsold. Steam’s seven-day trade lock still applies, so a freshly traded item cannot be sold on immediately.

Cashing out

Sale revenue reaches your seller balance in one to two business days, and Skinport pays out automatically each day by default, with weekly or monthly options. Bank transfer is the only payout route — despite accepting PayPal for deposits, you cannot be paid out to it. Identity verification is required once local thresholds are hit, with the top tier unlocking unlimited payouts.

Who it's for

A strong default for European buyers and sellers who want a large, liquid marketplace from a regulated German company and are happy being paid to a bank account. Less attractive if you are fee-sensitive — 8% is at the higher end here — or if you need crypto or PayPal payouts.
